PBRC is a partner in the Pro Bono Family Mediation Project (PBFMP), which engages volunteer mediators, law school clinic students, and pro bono lawyers to help resolve contested custody cases by offering day-of-court mediation and limited scope representation at the Baltimore City Circuit Court on select Thursdays during the year.
Volunteer Requirements for the Pro Bono Family Mediation Project:
- Lawyers must be barred in Maryland, in good standing, and have at least 2 years of family law experience.
- Mediators must have
- 40 hours of basic civil mediation training,
- 20 hours of child access mediation training, and
- 8 hours of mediation observation time or co-mediation of child access cases in Maryland Circuit Courts.
