COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL
POSITION SUMMARY: Seeking bright, highly motivated and experienced individual responsible for enhancing profile of organization and promoting volunteer legal services opportunities throughout state for non-profit legal services organization. Responsibilities will include developing marketing strategies for outreach to lawyers and community groups, coordinating public relations and media contacts, making public presentations, utilizing social media, drafting publications and promotional materials and supporting development efforts. Extremely strong written, verbal communication, organizational and computer skills required. Website and social media expertise necessary. Law-related experience helpful.
STATUS: Full time exempt position with competitive salary and excellent benefits. Must be available some evenings and weekends. Car necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Executive Director and Marketing Committee on developing and implementing an annual marketing plan to reach media, law firms, bar associations, and the general public.
- Write, circulate and conduct follow-up on press releases and advertisements sent to media outlets.
- Coordinate general publicity of programs and services through electronic, print and social media.
- Draft promotional materials for overall program.
- Design and coordinate publication of newsletter/e-newsletter and invites.
- Draft and coordinate publication of annual report.
- Track and monitor results of marketing and outreach activities and report back to Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Coordinate marketing for fundraising initiatives and recognition events.
- Coordinate annual awards program and special recognition events and publicity.
- Assist in coordination of National Celebration of Pro Bono Week.
- Author articles recognizing outstanding pro bono contributions and projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (communications/journalism/public relations or law-related experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access) and Adobe.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with people, including other staff, volunteers, clients, public interest organizations, Board members, and donors.
- Strong commitment to helping the community and ensuring equal access to justice.

POSITION SUMMARY: Highly motivated, organized, and bright individual with excellent computer skills needed to assist Executive Director in all administrative aspects of law-related public interest organization, including working with the Board of Directors and coordinating Board and committee meetings, communicating with members of the legal community, updating and maintaining the database system, general correspondence and accounting, and other office management tasks. Must be extremely proficient in MS Office and have solid database experience.
STATUS: Full-time exempt position. Competitive salary with excellent benefits.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General administrative and office management tasks, including responding to general program email inquiries and calls.
- Maintain program filing system and supplies.
- Draft and handle correspondence for Executive Director.
- Coordinate and process large mailings.
- Update database as needed.
- Track donations and payments.
- Provide support for Board of Directors, including responding to inquiries and requests for assistance.
- Assist Executive Director with development of agendas, materials and coordination of Board and Committee meetings.
- Send notification of meetings to Board members and track attendance.
- Schedule meeting facilities and coordinate setup where necessary.
- Schedule Executive Committee calls and meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (paralegal or law-related experience/degree preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access) and Adobe.
